Update on December 26th, AITO WENJIE M9 was officially released, offering two models: extended range version and pure electric version, each with both Max and Ultra versions, with a price range of 469,800 to 569,800 yuan. The Wenjie M9 is built by Huawei’s intelligent automotive full stack technology solution, with intelligent technology platforms such as the Tuling intelligent chassis, intelligent in car light, and Pangu AI large model.
On October 19th, the all-new large SUV under the AITO brand, AITO M9 (or Wenjie M9), was officially unveiled. Prior to this, the car had already started pre-sale, with an estimated price of 500000 to 600000 yuan for the extended range version and 500,000 to 600,000 yuan (US$68,367 – US$82,040)US$ for the pure electric version. The official stated that the product is expected to be launched in December 2023. The AITO M9 is officially referred to as the “best SUV within 10 million” (10 million yuan equal to ~US$1,367,340) and is Huawei‘s flagship product. The entire vehicle adopts a new design style, equipped with rear wheel follow up steering, digital headlights, support for 800V fast charging, Harmony OS 4.0 cockpit, Huawei ADS advanced automatic driving assistance, independent entertainment screen for the front passenger, rear aurora projection, Queen’s seat for the front passenger, etc.
AITO M9 is positioned as a large SUV, featuring a new design language of “Kunpeng Spreading Wings”, highlighting the grand and luxurious temperament. In terms of details, the new car adopts a closed front face design, with polygonal headlights connected by a central light strip and a fake front grille. By simplifying the design concept, the whole car looks more refined. It is worth mentioning that AITO M9 is featured with Huawei xPixel intelligent headlights, which can not only project various text, patterns, and even animation effects, but also display various patterns when the vehicle is stationary, enhancing the interaction between the car and people. In addition, the addition of narrow trapezoidal air intakes also enhances the vehicle’s visual hierarchy and fashionable atmosphere. There are differences in the intake design between the pure electric version and the extended range version.
From the side of the car, it has a flat roof line, which provides better headroom inside the car. In addition, the car windows are adorned with silver trim, creating a more youthful visual effect. Upon closer observation, it can be observed that the car adopts a pure flat side window design, which is more concise. The front and rear fenders slightly protrude from the body, giving it a muscular feel. In addition, the addition of hidden door handles and a new style of low drag wheels has greatly optimized the drag coefficient of this car, bringing the drag coefficient of the entire vehicle to 0.26cd. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width, and height of 5230/1999/1800mm, and a wheelbase of 3110. In terms of wheels, the car will provide 21 inch wheels.
The rear design is spacious and thick, with large number of horizontal design lines at the rear, which is conducive to enhancing the visual width of the rear. In addition, the car adopts a through style tail light design, creating a sense of hierarchy visually. Paired with chrome plated rear bumper, it brings some youthful effects.
The interior is also a brand new design style, with the center console layout adopting a symmetrical aesthetic design. The most eye-catching feature is undoubtedly the Oneglass triple screen design, and it will also be equipped with an AR HUD display. In addition, the interior is wrapped in a large amount of wood and leather materials, and the seats are very thick and equipped with headrest cushions, making comfort highly anticipated.
The interior of the car will feature a 3-row seat layout, with independent seats in the second row, and passengers will have configurations such as rear aurora projection and MagLink magic suction car interface. At the same time, passengers in the third row can also receive various configurations such as cup holders, electric seat adjustments, air conditioning vents, and audio systems to meet comfort needs. Not only that, officials say the cabin has a high lighting rate of up to 80%.

In terms of power, AITO M9 will have two options: extended range and pure electric. Previously, the official had declared a pure electric vehicle model, with the rated power of the driving motors being 62kW and 88kW, and the peak power being 160kW and 230kW, respectively.
