Lingbox UNI: Another Mini EV in the Chinese market

On May 20, 2022, a new model of Lingbox brand under Jemmell New Energy, Lingbox Uni, was officially launched. The new car is a pure electric mini-car with 3 doors and 4 seats. A total of two models have been launched, with a price range of 38,800 -49,800 yuan.

Previously, there have been many mini electric vehicles in the Chinese market, such as Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and Chery QQ Ice Cream. Recently, there are also such as Fengguang MINIEV and Changan LUMIN. It can be said that the competition in the mini electric vehicle market is still fierce.

In terms of appearance, Lingbox Uni adopts the same cute appearance style as its counterparts at the same level, which is also in line with the current trend of miniature electric vehicles. The closed front grille, the white grille and the bumper all use hexagonal grids to add visual effects. The headlights on both sides are integrated into the C-shaped design, which will have a good recognition after lighting.

The new car is positioned as a mini electric vehicle, with an overall length, width and height of 2930/1517/1620mm and a wheelbase of 1940mm. All models use 145/70 R12 tires.

At the rear of the car, the new car continues the simple design of the front part as a whole, and the square taillights with rounded corners look very cute.

In terms of interior, the overall shape of the center console is simple, the LCD instrument is located in front of the driver, and a mobile phone bracket in the center of the center console is reserved. The car adopts a 2+2 seat layout, and the high trim models support the electric folding and adjustment functions of the co-pilot.

In terms of safety functions, the new car comes standard with tire pressure monitoring, a reminder that the driver’s seat belt is not fastened, ISOFIX child safety seat interface, ABS+EBD, etc. In terms of functions, Lingbox Uni comes standard with an LCD instrument panel and a driving information display function. In terms of entertainment, the new car has a car Bluetooth connection function, a USB interface and a 12V power interface. Limited by cost, the new car only provides one in-car speaker.

In terms of power, Lingbox Uni is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 20kW and a peak torque of 86Nm. It adopts a rear-mounted rear-drive power layout. The suspension system is a front MacPherson independent, rear integral bridge non-independent structure, and the maximum travel speed is 100km/h.

In terms of batteries, the new car is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, with a capacity of 11.52kWh and 15.97kWh, corresponding to 140km and 201km of cruising range respectively, and only supports ordinary AC slow charging.
