At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the FAW Bestune brand officially released a new model, the Bestune Pony (Chinese says “奔腾小马”), which is positioned as a 3-door, 4-seater miniature electric car that is close to Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, it will be available with hardtop and convertible versions.
Lei Dongxue, deputy general manager of the sales branch of FAW Bestune, said that Bestune Pony is expected to be officially launched in July. According to reports, the Bestune Pony is built on the Bestune FME platform, and the power information of the car has not yet been announced.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the shape of a square box. The paint surface of the body is matched with a variety of colors. The outer contour is similar to that of Hongguang MINIEV. The headlights integrating far and near are very cute. The main light, the badge in the center of the front is behind the charging hole of the car.
The hubcap of the new car adopts blue and white color scheme, and the low wind resistance design can effectively reduce energy consumption. The tail adopts the same flat shape as ordinary miniature electric vehicles, ensuring the interior seating space to the greatest extent.
In terms of interior, the new car is equipped with a double-spoke steering wheel with an LCD instrument in front. The central control of the new car retains many knob designs, and the button layout in front of the co-pilot is reminiscent of the classic red and white machine gamepad. The Bestune Pony’s interior part adopts the same color-contrasting design as the exterior. The cockpit shape of the whole car is relatively simple, and popular elements such as bar-type air-conditioning outlets and double-width multifunctional steering wheels are provided. Some game design elements have been added to the physical buttons in the car, which undoubtedly has a strong appeal to young consumers. Among them, the car sets the knob-type electronic shift mechanism in the middle of the center console. There is no independent armrest box in the middle of the front seats, and the central passage is completely connected, which can ensure that the front passengers have better longitudinal space.
