Haval Xiaolong/Xiaolong MAX listed in China with new-gen Hi4 Hybrid System

On May 15, Haval Xiaolong/Xiaolong MAX were officially launched. Haval Xiaolong (Xiaolong in Chinese means “Fierce Dragon”) positioned as a compact SUV and launched a total of 3 models with a price range of 139,800 to 156,800 yuan in the Chinese market; Haval Xiaolong MAX positioned as a medium-sized SUV and launched a total of 3 models. It will be the first model equipped with Great Wall Motors’ new hybrid architecture Hi4 intelligent electric hybrid four-wheel drive system.

Both new cars adopt the latest design language of the Haval family. In terms of the front face, the “7”-shaped headlights equipped with Haval Xiaolong and Xiaolong MAX are very eye-catching. In terms of difference, the front face of Haval Xiaolong adopts the closed front face that is often used in pure electric vehicles, and only the air intake below is retained, making the shape more concise.

The design of the double waistline on the side further reflects the sense of strength. In addition, the design of the roof slopes slightly downward, creating a coupe-style design. The rear of the new car is relatively complicated. The top of the rear has a double-stage spoiler and high-mounted brake lights in the style of pilot lights. The taillights echo the shape of the headlights. The rear of the car uses a hidden exhaust without decoration, which looks more concise. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4600/1877/1675mm, and the wheelbase is 2710mm.

In terms of interior, Haval Xiaolong adopts a dual screen design, with a 7-inch instrument panel and a 12.3-inch central control screen. The air conditioning control is in the form of light touch, which is simple and beautiful. There is a hollow storage compartment at the bottom of the center console, which is conducive to increasing the storage space in the front row. The overall design style is also more youthful and sporty.

In terms of power, Haval Xiaolong is powered by a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5L engine and a single front motor, with a maximum power of 101 horsepower and a maximum torque of 132 Nm. The transmission system is matched with a 2-speed DHT gearbox. They are 52km and 110km respectively.

Haval Xiaolong MAX

Haval Xiaolong MAX is equipped with a grille design with a mesh structure. This kind of gradient borderless grille is matched with sharp light sets, which has a full sense of shape. Viewed from the side, the car still uses a bar-type waistline to create a visually lengthened effect. In terms of rims, the new car is equipped with 19-inch wheels.

The design of the rear is relatively simple, and the rear of the car does not use a bar-type taillight shape, which is more individual. The rear enclosure of the car is in a different color from the body, and it is decorated with chrome-plated trim to enhance its sense of movement. In terms of body size, the length/width/height of Haval Xiaolong MAX are 4758 (4771)/1895/1725mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2800mm, which is positioned as a medium-sized SUV model.

The interior of Haval Xiaolong MAX adopts a three-screen design. The size of the central control screen is 12.3 inches (the three screens are the same size). The co-pilot screen is dedicated to entertainment and can be connected to Bluetooth headsets independently. It is equipped with a new generation of Coffee OS system, equipped with Snapdragon 8155 chip.

In terms of power, the Hi4 intelligent electric hybrid four-wheel drive system equipped on Haval Xiaolong MAX is composed of a 1.5L engine and front and rear dual motors. The system has a comprehensive power of 279 horsepower and a comprehensive torque of 585 Nm. The electric NEDC cruising range is 105km.
