CHERY’s all-new mid-sized SUV EXEED Yaoguang goes live in China

On February 21, we learned from CHERY official, EXEED Yaoguang, a new medium-sized SUV based on EXEED M3X Mars Architecture 2.0, was officially launched. The new car launched a total of 6 variants, with a price range of 152,800 to 202,800 yuan.

EXEED is a new brand from CHERY Auto. EXEED Yaoguang can be regarded as the second-gen product under this brand. The new car is built on the basis of EXEED M3X Mars Architecture 2.0. It is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, in terms of shape, it is obviously different from the first-gen products of EXEED. First of all, this car has a coupe SUV shape as a whole, and it is also the first model with a slight crossover style from this brand. Second, the design language used by this car is also different.

It uses a similar closed front face design, the top is composed of brand LOGO and bar-style light strips, and the bottom is an air intake composed of gradient diamonds, supplemented by boomerang-style daytime running lights on both sides. Although the shape of the front of the car is still square-headed, the facial makeup gives people a completely different feeling. This car is also the first model of EXEED to apply electric hidden door handles.

The length, width and height are 4781/1920/1671mm, and the wheelbase is 2815mm. The size of EXEED Yaoguang is a relatively compact medium-sized SUV, which is a small circle smaller than CHANGAN UNI-K. The new car adds a sharp waistline design on the side, which increases the recognition and makes the side more powerful. The rear part of the car has an obvious slip-back shape, and the headlights echo the front of the car, which is also a through-type design. As a feature, EXEED Yaoguang wraps the brand letter logo into the lampshade of the headlights. Equipped with a bilateral exhaust pipe layout with a total of four outlets to enhance the sporty atmosphere.

In the CHERY system, the EXEED brand positioning is relatively high-end. Based on this premise, all EXEED Yaoguang models are equipped with leather interiors, 24.6-inch curved dual screens, column shifter and double-spoke steering wheels as standard. In terms of configuration, it comes standard with Qualcomm 8155 smart cockpit chip and Horizon J3 assisted driving chip, which supports WHUD, 50W mobile phone charging, ambient light, NFC key, panoramic image, full-speed ACC/AEB, electric tailgate, 8-speaker audio, and 19 Inch aluminum alloy wheels, and provide a co-pilot queen car, rear seat backrest electric adjustment. In addition, the four-wheel drive version is equipped with CDC adaptive electromagnetic suspension system, ARHUD and all-terrain system.

In terms of power, the new car is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 261 horsepower (192 kilowatts) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The transmission system is paired by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a four-wheel drive system optionally, a variety of driving modes are also available. In addition, the new car will launch a plug-in hybrid version in the future.
