Recently, the Chinese power battery supplier EVE Energy announced that it had received a letter from BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd., this is another power battery company favored by BMW after CATL, Samsung SDI, and Northvolt. EVE Energy will also be the second Chinese battery supplier to enter the BMW supply chain after CATL.

It is reported that EVE Energy will supply the ternary square laminated battery for BMW. The current production capacity is 2GWh, and it is planned to expand by 5GWh in the future. EVE Energy received BMW’s designated letter, indicating that its self-developed ternary prismatic battery has once again been highly recognized by major international customers. Prior to this, EVE Energy has signed long-term supply contracts with mainstream international car companies such as Daimler and Hyundai-Kia.

BMW has recently made frequent deployments in the field of power batteries. In early July, BMW and the Swedish power battery supplier Northvolt signed a long-term supply contract of 2 billion euros. In November 2019, BMW signed a total of 10 billion euros of battery supply contracts with CATL and Samsung SDI.

EVE Energy has multiple domestic production bases in Huizhou, Guangdong and Jingmen, Hubei. According to EVE Energy’s public production capacity plan, by the end of 2020, the total production capacity of power batteries will reach 26GWh; by 2021, the total production capacity will double from 2020 to 52GWh.
