On May 29, GAC Honda‘s new SUV ZR-V (It has also a Chinese name “致在” or spelling “Zhizai”) was officially released. It is a compact SUV with a market positioning between Honda Vezel and Breeze (or CR-V). According to the official statement, this is a global car, and it is a world premiere. The new car is built on the same platform as the Civic, adopts a new design language, and is equipped with a 1.5T engine. It is reported that the new car is expected to be officially launched in the near future.
The Honda ZR-V is positioned below the HR-V in other markets. However, the GAC Honda ZR-V debuted in Guangzhou Auto Show this time seem at least the same level as the CR-V. Therefore, this car can be regarded as a brand-new model designed by GAC Honda.
In terms of exterior design, GAC Honda ZR-V can hardly consider any of Honda’s previous design elements, especially the air intake grille, which has become a big mouth style, similar to the Ford model. Fortunately, the body design has nothing to do with Ford, but at first glance from the side and rear, it looks a bit like the Infiniti QX80.
But it has to be said that although the exterior elements have nothing to do with the previous Honda, the new design is very in line with the aesthetics of current trend of those new energy vehicles. Perhaps influenced by the design of new energy vehicles.
In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4568/1840/1621mm, and a wheelbase of 2655mm. Its market positioning is between Honda Vezel, Breeze and CRV.
In terms of interior, GAC Honda ZR-V also does not refer to any Honda models currently on sale. Aside from the large touch screen in the central control, the visual experience is more like an upgraded version of the Mazda series of interiors. Equipped with a full LCD instrument and a floating central control screen, the air-conditioning outlet is also integrated into the mesh panel, and equipped with a long-lost mechanical gear lever, it is full of sports. The high trim models will also be equipped with adaptive cruise, lane keeping and other functions.
In terms of power, the new car will be powered by a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 134kW (182 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 240 Nm. The transmission system will be matched with a CVT.
