At the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show, 2024 JAC Hunter Catamount (Chinese “山猫” or Shanmao) pickup officially debuted. This pickup is an off-road version based on JAC Hunter standard version, equipped with numerous hardcore off-road equipment, and the front face design has also been upgraded compared to the current model.
From the appearance perspective, JAC Hunter Catamount has been equipped with a brand new mecha style grille, combined with split style headlights, giving the entire front a very aggressive look. In addition, the JAC badge has been changed from red to silver, and the lower bumper design has also been adjusted. It is equipped with a high-strength water tank guard and a front winch with a drag weight of up to 13500 pounds, further enhancing its off-road performance and ability to get out of trouble.
From the side view of the vehicle, it is equipped with 22 adjustable nitrogen shock absorbers and a very high ground clearance. Combined with the specifications of 265/70 R17, the Giti 4×4 AT100 series all terrain tires and wading throats further enhance off-road performance. In terms of the rear end, its design is square and full, with vertical tail lights using LED light sources. The rear bumper integrates reverse radar and boarding pedal functions.
In terms of interior, the car has been equipped with a new dual spoke steering wheel, which looks more avant-garde than the current three spoke design. The interior adopts a large area of enamel molding technology and adds chrome trim for embellishment, and the overall texture is still good. The 10.4-inch central control screen has conventional functions such as mobile phone connectivity, reverse camera, Bluetooth, and multimedia audio source, and can display automatic air conditioning and tire pressure monitoring information.
In terms of power, the car is equipped with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine, with a maximum power of 170 horsepower and a peak torque of 410N · m. The transmission system is matched with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with a four-wheel drive system.
