KIA’s China Factory “Sublease” Human Horizons, The First Production EV To be Released Next Month

As early as mid-March of this year, there was a rumor that the Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA factory was shut down. Following the official rumor, the plant will be dedicated to the production of new energy vehicles, creating a “zero pollution” new energy plant, and undergoing structural adjustment. After that, no layoffs will be made. We learned from Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA that Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA officially launched a strategic cooperation with Human Horizons. The first model of Human Horizons will be produced at Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA and is scheduled to be mass-produced in 2021.

Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA has cooperated with Human Horizons and has a great relationship with Yueda Group. It is also one of the shareholders of Human Horizons, “Jiangsu Yueda Group” is also one of the investors of Human Horizons. As early as September 2017, Human Horizons and Yueda Group have carried out multi-faceted cooperation in the fields of new energy vehicle manufacturing and manufacturing through equity cooperation. Yueda Group currently holds 20% of the shares of Human Horizons (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd., so the cooperation between the two is also reasonable. Under the coordination and support of Yueda Group, Human Horizons and Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA set up a joint work team to determine the industrialization plan and production cooperation mode.

Human Horizons Concept-U concept car

Human Horizons’ EV model will be put into operation at the first factory in Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA, with an annual capacity of 150,000 cars. The main products of this factory include the KIA Sportage R and KIA KX7 models, which will be transferred to the second and third factories. It is expected to be rebuilt in 2021 and handed over to Human Horizons. As early as April 2, 2019, Human Horizons officially released the strategic layout of smart cars, and debuted its Concept-U concept car.

At the beginning of 2019, Human Horizons has started the test of the whole vehicle at the Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Certification & Tech Innovation Center (SMVIC). Human Horizons has completed the first phase of the wind tunnel test for the first model. According to the announcement of the Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone Administrative Committee, the Human Horizons’s mass production vehicles will be released in July this year. In December, 70 engineering vehicle will be produced for road test and officially put into operation in 2021. Previously, Human Horizons had released three concept cars: Concept H, Concept-A and Concept-U. Human Horizons did not specify which model will become the first mass production model.

With a strong team as the foundation, the prospects for Human Horizons seem to be extremely clear.

In addition to the strong talent team, the background of Human Horizons has recently been dug up. It was established by CECI(Capital East Coast International), Jiangsu Yueda Group, and Yancheng SDIC’s wholly-owned subsidiary Aoxin New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. Among them, the CECI can provide sufficient funding sources, and Jiangsu Yueda Group holds the production qualification of new energy vehicles (it is one of the major shareholders of Dongfeng-Yueda-KIA), which can provide mature new energy automobile industry chain manufacturing system for Human Horizons, and the strategic cooperation agreement signed by China Mobile and Lingang Group will also help its advancement in the fields of intelligent driving and automobile Internet ecology.

At the 2018 conference, Human Horizons released two concept cars, the Concept H Hypervelocity alternative mobile concept car and the Concept A “Active-agility” new concept car.

The two concept cars were completed by the team that is known as the godfather of Chinese auto designer, James Shyr. These two concept cars are not only stunning and future-proof, but also unique in the field of innovative cutting-edge technology. The unique “suspension-steer-wheel cover” integrated system A.C.C.S.I, the world’s first linked cockpit system A.C.E.S, unique LCD smart film cockpit system P.E.A.C.E, the Re-Configurable Cockpit Electric Steering System(RE.C.E.S.S.)… has achieved the subversion of traditional intelligent new energy vehicles in design and technology.
