At the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show, Lixiang MEGA officially made its debut. It is reported that the expected selling price of Lixiang MEGA Max is within 600,000 yuan (it is speculated that the Max version is a top model, and usually models from this maker goes 3 trims such as the Air, Pro, and Max versions). The official selling price will be announced at the December 2023 press conference. MEGA delivery will begin in late February 2024.

Looking at the new car, the overall design of Lixiang MEGA is based on simplicity and functionality, with the aim of reducing wind resistance! The front of the car retains the family’s iconic flawless star ring light design and integrates with the front profile. The dark U-shaped functional area is also an ideal car family style design style, retaining some family characteristics.

On the side, we can see that the roof line of the new car gradually descends from the highest point, and the side shape is similar to the stern of a ship, gradually narrowing inward. Coupled with the design of an integrated D-pillar connected to the roof, it can streamline the rear airflow and improve the balance of the tail vortex. Finally, the ideal MEGA’s wind resistance coefficient is reduced to 0.215Cd, which has reached the level of Taycan and other cars.

At the rear of the car, in addition to another star ring light that echoes the front of the car, Lixiang MEGA also adopts a dual color rear design, making the rear design more agile. The body dimensions are 5350/1965/1850mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3300mm.

Arriving in the car, the “refrigerator”, “color TV”, and “large sofa” will definitely not be absent. Firstly, the front row is still the ideal family style design style that we are familiar with, which will be equipped with HUD head up display, OLED central control screen, and passenger entertainment screen, among others. In terms of assisted driving, the Pro version is equipped with Horizon Journey 5, NOA covering high-speed sections, and Max is equipped with dual NVIDIA Orin-X to achieve urban NOA.

Based on previous application information, the new car still adopts a three row seven seat seat layout and adopts a traditional MPV layout of 2+2+3. However, due to the long length of the vehicle, a considerable amount of space is reserved in the rear trunk. Under normal circumstances, the longitudinal length of the luggage compartment is 680mm. The third row seats are quite interesting, not only can the backrest be folded forward to expand space, but they can also be fully folded forward and folded up to form a longer storage space. After folding and flipping the three row seats, the luggage compartment has a depth of 1066mm.

In terms of power, the new car will be built on the 800V platform, with a peak motor power of 400kW, a peak torque of 542 Nm, and an acceleration of only 5.5 seconds from 0-100km/h. Lixiang MEGA is equipped with a 5C Qilin battery from CATL, with an energy density of 170Wh/kg, and is equipped with a charging level of 500km in 12 minutes. At the same time, with significant efforts to optimize the wind resistance coefficient, the ideal MEGA’s network end energy consumption is 15.9kWh/100km. As a comparison, the energy consumption of Zeekr 009 is 18.3kWh/100km, and Denza D9 is 18.4kWh/100km.
