On October 28th, GAC Trumpchi ES9 was officially launched with a total of four models, priced between 229,800 and 269,800 yuan on the Chinese market. As the second product of the Trumpchi Smart Electric New Energy E series, the new car will be powered by a 2.0T+2-speed DHT plug-in hybrid system, and a 25.57kWh battery pack, with a CLTC pure electric range of 143 kilometers and a CLTC comprehensive range of 1215 kilometers.
In terms of appearance, Trumpchi ES9 will provide two different styles of front face design, with the regular version adopting the “Dragon Wing” design style, featuring an oversized grille shape and sharp headlights, creating a business atmosphere visual effect. Although the Traveler Edition’s design also features a large-sized grille, chrome decoration is added above the grille to reduce the sharp feeling. At the same time, the lower part is paired with a black lower surround, making the design more introverted and inclined towards a sporty style.
The rugged lines on the side are similar to the Trumpchi GS8, but the new car’s aura is even more powerful. The straight lines of the roof are combined with slender waistlines to outline, weakening the muscular feel of the body and expanding the visual space. The length, width, and height of Trumpchi ES9 are 5015/1950/1780mm, and the wheelbase is 2920mm. The length, width, and height of Trumpchi ES9 Traveler Edition are 5110/1976/1780mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2920mm. The configuration will come standard with roof luggage racks, automatic high and low beam headlights, induction wipers, and 20 inch wheels, which are also very eye-catching in their wheel design.
The tail design looks relatively flat and uses a small backpack design, which can be used as storage space. Due to the license plate being moved down to the bumper, the bumper has also been redesigned, which has a high degree of similarity to the shape and design style of the front bumper, forming a good overall echo effect.
The interior design creates a contrast with the exterior, which can be said to look more “powerful”, but the interior is more “introverted” and leans towards a family style. In terms of power, the new car will be powered by GAC 2.0T hybrid engine, which adopts the first dual motor parallel axis series parallel scheme created by GAC-GMC, and supports intelligent electric hybrid, pure electric, and battery protection priority modes.
